Mainely Magnetos Home Page

We are located in Northern Maine and we mainly rebuild magnetos. Thats how we came up with our site name, Mainely Magnetos. I first learned the rebuilding business from my father, Gerald in the early 1970's. As a kid I always hung around the shop and loved watching dad rebuilding. My favorite was watching him repair Magnetos because of the Spark they made I guess. He was born in 1910 and watched our country evolve from horses to tractors.

Our Business hours are 8 to 5 Monday through Friday.

Please note that we do not rebuild aircraft magnetos and none of our parts or services are approved for use in the aviation industry.

We do however rebuild magnetos for cars, trucks, tractors, motorcycles, and stationary engines. American and Robert Bosch, Case, Dixie, Edison, Eisemann, Fairbanks Morse, International Harvester, Lucas, Splitdorf, Sumter, Webster, and Wico to name a few. We also can rewind coils and rebuild condensers for those that are no longer available.

Antique Tractor

In 1975 I took over the business from my dad, Gerald, who passed away unexpectedly in 1976. Then in 1996, after getting hit with "Classic Tractor Fever", I started only rebuilding units for vintage farm equipment and autos. Today we only rebuild Magnetos and a few Carburetors.

We were honored to have had this award from Meli's Tractor School bestowed upon us in March 2004. We have long been admirers of Meli, her Tractor School, and all the useful information she provides.
We were honored yet again in June 2004 when we became the official sponsor of Meli's Tractor School.

We want to thank Retired for the design and maintenance of Meli's Tractor School. Your hard work and dedication is a great asset to the Antique Tractor Community!
